Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, was an American actress, singer and model who became one of the biggest Hollywood icons and sex symbols of the 1950s. Her career began in the late 1940s when she was discovered by a photographer and landed a contract with 20th Century Fox.
 
With her unmistakable blond hair, radiant smile and sensual charisma, she conquered the hearts of millions of people around the world. Marilyn Monroe has starred in more than 30 films, including classics like Some Like It Hot, River of No Return and The Seven Year Itch. Her acting performance was often praised and earned her a Golden Globe award.
